hola Reader! last week i was in Madagascar, this week i’m in Canada, and next week i’ll be in Mexico it's definitely a whirlwind chapter, but i'm actually feeling fairly grounded thanks to a few non negotiables in my life: 1. Prioritizing rest and recalibration, even when the world is spinningAs a Projector in Human Design AND a Taurus who LOVES juicy rest, it's a non negotiable that i schedule in time for "brain breaks" every single day sometimes it's a nap, sometimes it's sitting outside with the sun on my face, and sometimes it's just sitting there with my eyes closed and no screens and after spending 12 hours in vans in Madagascar just to see one lemur (worth it, but whew), i confirmed that sometimes the most luxurious thing you can do for yourself is look for the pocket of calm in the chaos, and bask in it! 2. Creating pockets of JOY, no matter whatbetween 14-hour flights, unexpected layovers, and what Madagascar calls “road rehabilitation” (aka sitting on the side of the road doing bush pees for 45 minutes) i’ve learned that joy isn’t about perfect moments - it’s about finding reasons to smile anyways sometimes that means laughing at yourself wearing Nikes while locals rock proper hiking gear or finding the perfect sunset spot after a day of travel chaos our minds are very powerful, and whatever we look for, we find so it's a non negotiable for me to find ways to smile / laugh and ENJOY as many moments of my day as i can not every day may feel all good, but there is good in every day! and of course when it comes to my community, my biggest non-negotiable is this: 3. Always keeping it real, even when the highlight reel would be easier to share for me, radical authenticity is so important because of you i never want you to feel like you’re the only one struggling with the messy parts of chasing your dreams and i do my absolute best to ensure it doesn’t happen by keeping toxic positivity completely off the table Instagram might show you the perfect sunset, but what it doesn’t show is the bumpy AF van ride it took to get there life isn’t about being perfect - it’s about being present even when present means questioning all your life choices while sitting in a van for the 10th day in a row in Madagascar! 😅 i'm still figuring out how to share about my trip honestly - both the highlights AND the parts that had me having a lil mental breakdown at some points because lemurs definitely deserve a permanent spot on my IG feed, but maybe so does the video that i took of a water bottle splashing around in the car to show how not smooth the roads were?! 😂 i'm a real human, and i'm always here - for the magic AND the mess ✨ with love and a little jet lag,
